This was another photshoot i did with photographer Stephanie Graham. Her concept that she is introducing is "Glam Shots". You remember Glamour shots from back in the day, well she is comig up with a team of artists to colaborate on this project. The model she used was her friend(forgive me , i totally forgot her name, but she was so nice).Anyway here are the before and afters and a few shots my girl Jill took of me while i applied her makeup! Bridal Consultation

Ok So as promised here are a few pics of a bride i did...hmmm....i would say November! Psalms- wanted a lightweight natural look. We went with airbrushing for her-and i always like to tie the brides bouquet in with her look for her big day..so it all works together. Ofcourse its all the brides preference, but Miss. Pslams was open to it! Her bouquet is going to be a vibrant pink---so I decided to use some pinks from MAC and Milani. I promise i will get better with my list of products. PROMISE!

Hi There!

I know it's been a while since i have last posted anything about makeup. I guess you could say I took a little "vacation" from makeup and my blog. It's tough being a makeup artist, especially freelancing. That means you have to hustle hustle hustle-and network and get your name out. Although I have had tremendous support from the start of my makeup career-i cannot say that i have believed in me as much as others have believed in me.

I have an extremely supportive husband who always wants me to succeed and he sacrifices time and money in order to support me and my goals. My parents have also been my fans in my corner always saying "Stace your the best!". I have too many friends who have supported me in this dream job of mine. I have a makeup buddy, Jill, who always encourages me and hasn't let me completely stop my makeup ball from rollin. We started day one in makeup together at MAKEUP FIRST, in downtown CHI-Town!

Anytime you run your own business, i realize now that it is difficult, no matter how much you like the product/service that you provide. It's a business- you have to figure out your finances, customer service, products, services, travel..etc.. all on your own. I'm glad I have had the support of friends and family. Now it's time for me to support this dream and prioritize.

I have my ball rollin again! I did a photoshoot this past saturday-and it was great! I worked with 2 great models, Kim and Katie- a great stylist, Kim- a creative photographer Terrence Blount-and i had my makeup buddy to share the shoot with, Jill. It went very well, but whew....did i have butterflys! LOL

Anyway, For this year in 2010. This blog will represent everything makeup, i will showcase looks on me and any shoots or brides that i do. As well as, the ups and downs of running StacyFaces. Don't forget the name...i got skills! LOL

Im going to post some pics of a bridal consulation that i did a few months back that i never posted!

Hey All!

Ok i know i haven't blogged in a while. I've been a rut! What gives? But anyway i'm out of it. I'd like to show you what i have been up to on the makeup side of things! I had the pleasure of working with a fabulous bride, Miss Candice. She had such a lovely personality and she has the prettiest smile! I had no problem trying to find her cheek bones when i applied her blush and shimmer! Her favorite color is red-so all of her girls had candy apple red dresses and OH MY!!!! Her bouquet was gorgeous--i looked like 50 roses! Anyway, I popped Candices' eyes with pinks and rosey colors as well as her cheeks and lips! She was so gorgeous! Awwww..the wedding season is in full bloom and we finally got our summer weather in Chicago! Yahoo! But it is so HOT! Whew! But its great weather for weddings and to take pics outside! Beautiful weather for a wedding is a bride's dream!

I have some before and afters that i took from a wedding last week. The Bride's name is Kenya and the girls were pretty in PINK! Love pink, its so girlie! Kenya's dress also had hints of pink flowers in it! I wasn't able to get the complete makeup over(you know hair out of rollers, and dresses-but the makeup was complete!

Hey Bloggers!

Im so excited...i just recently got the pics from a wedding that i had the privilege of being the artist for in February!Yolanda was so pretty! She had a royal themed wedding-check out her glorious Queen crown. Isn't it gorgeous! "Miss YO" as she is lovingly called, had a natural look-with a little pop on her cheeks(Red Ginger and a little MAC shimmer). Her lips were lined with Currant(MAC)and New Flame(lipgloss)

Her matron of honor Melanie..wore purple(remember royalty). I made her face clean and polished with purplish shadows from MAC(can't remember the names right now)-sorry! Her lips were lined with Cork and Babied Lipgloss(both Mac)

I just wanted to share my weekend with you! Another fun-filled bridal consultation(i love 'em).....I had the opportunity to meet Miss Davita! Davita had her look in mind that she wanted for her big day. She wanted simple, elegant, smooth skin, however she wanted her eyes to have the drama! She had in mind a look that miss Jada Pinkett hadin Essence, I believe. Sultry sexy eyes! We used pinks and roses and black liner to make the eye pop even more! She wanted purplish pinkish on her lips! Miss Davita really liked her look! Check it out!

Makeup Is My Life!!!

Hey Fellow Bloggers!

I had a a jam packed weekend--full of makeup makeup makeup! Saturday afternoon I had a consultation with a "bride to be" named Candice. I had a ball at her consultation..she invited her girls over to watch her transformation! I enjoyed hearing all of the latest wedding stories and the planning! They had me crackin up!
Anyway, Candice's look was very clean and shimmery! I evened out her skin tone with a little concealor and foundation--she had gorgeous chocolate brown skin and I shimmered her eyes with a little MAC and Milani-and for her lips i used cork by MAC and New Flame lipgloss. She was lovely..if i do say so myself! She loved her makeup and i think her big smile tops it off!

Remember, i said my weekend was jam packed with makeup..ok so on Sunday i had the priviledge to work with and assist celebrity makeup artist AKUA AUSET. The shoot started at 11am...and this photoshoot was for her Metamorphose 9 1/2 week project! There were 12 ladies that were being transformed. Akua's color theme was white with red hints of color. The ladies looked amazing! I worked on eyes and lips for the day! OK OK OK....how slow am i that i didn't bring my camera! I KNOW I KNOW! But as soon as i get pics i will post. Anyway-my day at the shoot ended 7pm--and then guess what i was off to another bridal consultation to do more makeup! YAHOO!

Next I met up with Miss Brittany! She is so sweet...and her wedding is in July! Brittany wanted a glowy natural look. Not too heavy on the eye, but more polished! So we evened out her skin, she has beautiful skin-so it didn't take much at all. I used IMAN powders and BEN NYE powders to highlight and contour her face. On her eyes i used MAC -ORB, BAMBOO, and another brown color(sorry don't know the name).Her cheeks i used a gold shimmer eyeshadow from NARS(its really creamy) so it went on great on her cheeks! LIPS i used MAC cork and MAC mad cap lipglass! She was so pretty! She really liked it and her mommy did too! Check it out:

Hey All!

Y'all know it's bridal season..so my weekends have been booked with BRIDES, BRIDES, and MORE BRIDES! My most recent bride is Vameca! For her consultation with me, Vameca wanted a polished look...not so over the top..but just beautiful! She really wanted to GLOW and look fabulous! One thing that we did tweek on Vameca, was her blush...she wanted her cheeks to "pop"! We used Maybeline and MAC shimmer to acheive that affect! I think we acheived that perfect, polished , glowy look-with a little pop on the cheek. Whatcha think?

Dramatic Diva Eye!

Hey There!

I definitely wanted to take the time to share with you some of the pics of the bride i did on Friday! Her name is Ramona...and she wanted a dramatic eye for her wedding day. She is a makeup girl...so she wanted a look that was different from how she normally looks. She stepped out of the normal bride box and chose a sexy smokey eye.Her skin i made a golden bronzy look with Nars products and she wasn't sure about the lip so we gave her slight color with a MAC Hodgepodge lipliner and a chocolate(literally chocolate lipgloss-it smells like realy cocoa ;). Ramona is a diva in her own right..and she definitely had the look to match, check out her consultation pics!

Miss Ramona's big day is actually next saturday! Congrats Ramona..i know you will be a beautiful diva bride!

Hey All!

Hope your weekend was cool! Mine was excellent! Makeup all weekend....YAHOO!
I had a consultation with a bride on saturday...she really liked her makeup! Her big day is on April 4th..can't wait! On Sunday, I had a photoshoot with a bride named Yolanda! Actually she is a former bride, but she wanted some extra pics with her girls and her fam...so she got all dolled up again in her gown and veil! GORGEOUS BRIDE and she has a sweet personality to go with it! I'll be sure to post pics from her big day soon!

On to today's topic, BEFORE AND AFTERS! I had a chance to do some before and afters with 5 of my girls a few weeks ago! So i wanted to share their transformation! All of our pics were taken by a fabulous photographer named Sarah of PhotoArt Click Click..she is an awesome photographer-as a matter of fact she shot my very own wedding!Check out her site at www.photoartclickclick.com We had so much fun that day...our theme was pink! So the girls had pink tops and accessories and ofcourse pink shimmer shadows from Mac and Milani! I wanted their skin to be bronzed and golden and vibrant! Meet the Artist Behind the Brush!

Hey Everyone!

So it has been a while since I have updated my blog! So sorry about that! My fellow bloggers have been on my case about posting! I am back y'all! Anyway, I know from my first post i just mentioned a little bit about me. Where the name STACYFACES came from...seems like it came just mainly from makeup...WRONG! My uncle Mike has called me STACYFACE since i was a little girl.....and he actually came up with that as my business name. NEAT,HUH?

Well anyway, my plan for this blog is to post new beauty products that i like/dislike, love/hate-ya know. I will be posting my shoots that I do quite often, before and afters(love those), and random looks that i do on myself. Oh yea, and i'm going to try to learn how to work my camera so i can actually post video tutorials on how to apply certain makeup looks! Sound good?

MY NEW NAILS

Hello There!

Ok, girls..I am trying something different theses days. MANICURES! Ok, thinking about that--it sounds like i never got my nails done before, let me clarify! I use to wear tips all the time and loved the look--but lately i haven't really been feeling that look on me anymore. So im trying my own nails now! It takes some getting use to --but i really like the look. After i soaked off my tips--my nails were jacked. So i have been trying use whatever i can to restore them to good healthy nails. So i decided that my skills as a "nail tech" are totally limited so i decided to go get a professional manicure from my girl Rita. She is a Professional Nail Tech and hooked my nails up!

Rita gave me the best hot oil manicure. I've never had one before, but i will be going back for more. She cleaned up my cuticles -shaped and buffed and everything else under the sun to make my nails look great. I must say the end resort was fabulous! My hands were so soft--and i chose one of Ritas signature mani's, "Rita's Jazzy Duo"! Check my nails out! You like? I love! : ) I'm wearing "Finger Paints-shadow of dark(its a really dark purple) and on my ring fingers(Sally Hansen-Crystal Chrome-lilac crystal)

I decided to ask Ms. Rita some questions on what us ladies need to know about manicures and nail care! If you're interested read on...

What can we do to keep our nails and hands healthy in the winter months?

Rita says " its a must t use cuticle oil(it helps to lock in moisture and keeps the cuticles soft to prevent cracks and hang nails. I also recommend parrafin treatments for nice supple hands.

So what is the difference between Gel vs. Acrylic?

Rita says " just that- a gel is a gel. There should be no powder used when getting a gel overlay. Gel is gel substance applied to the nail.So when you are at the salon-if your nail tech is using a powder and you requested gel--ask why?"

Yikes, i hate that drill--it always leaves ridges and damages my nails bed. What is the deal with that?

Rita says " Professional nail techs should be trained to use a drill properly-because it can lead to damaging affects, such as ridges and burning on the nail bed."

We all want to go to clean salons to get our nails done--but are there any other specific things that we ladies should look for?

Rita says " its important to have a safe, clean work area. Your nail tech should show the client that their own hands have been santized before touching the clients(a light spray of alcohol or hand sanitizer is good).The instruments should be disinfected thoroughly as well. Some things that should not be reused are : orange wood sticks (cuticle sticks)

pumice stones(if a pumice stone is used during a pedicure-it should

only be used for that client. Unless is is one that can be sanitzed prior

using it before another client. However, the regular(rock like pumice

stone)-should not be used on more than one client.

New towels should be used for both mani's and pedi's.

Ok, enough of my tips! I know i learned quite a bit from my lesson in nail care with Miss. Rita...and i hope you did too! Don't forget girls--if you see something at your nails salon that doesn't look right--question it, request better, or find a new salon that is going to take care of the prettiness and healthiness of your nails!

Let Me Introduce Myself!

Hey Hey Hey! Yes, i went waayyy back to Whats' Happenin'! You know, with Roger, Duane and ReRun! LOL Ok...let me bring it up to the ' 08! Let me introduce myself, my name is Stacy and I'm a chicagoland makeup artist. I have my official website stacyfaces.com ( go head-check it out)! So here is a little tidbit about the name of that site and my blog. I have had different nicknames growing up--people tend to rhyme "stacy" or they add a little something on the end. However, stacyfaces came from my uncle Mike. Ever since i was a kid he would call me StacyFACE--hence the name stacyfaces. And oh! how great it goes with my career as a makeup artist! Thanks Unc!

So whats StacyFaces about? Well, my goal with this blog is to give my opinions on new beauty trends-products...and to take you on a tour of different photoshoots and events or even trips to the makeup store. Hey MAC-Sephora-ULTA! I'm comin' to see ya soon!

Well, what about my makeup style? Hmmmm....good question! To be honest i don't think i can pinpoint a distinct style. I try to be as versatile as possible. I love simple beauty-to extreme color and looks! My goal as an artist is to ultimately bring out the emotion in the client. Not tears....but extra happiness and "divaliciousness" Have you ever seen a bride look in the mirror and feel like a GLAMOUR GIRL. There is no better feeling as an artist to see the amount "divaliciousness" you have brought out in a client. I LOVE IT!
